RV Adventure 2011

On Thursday August 4th, we left at 5 am for the TriCities. We picked up the RV and pack up at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Zach's jaw dropped to the floor when he saw it's size. This was definitely the way to travel!

Wrestling, land surfing, watching movies, and playing Wii were big hits.

Each night we watched a movie with popcorn. Everyone had there own space to sleep. Zach was a great sport and slept on the floor all but one night! Chris and I had a room at the back that fit us great.

Our first stop was in Bend, OR. We stayed at the Thousand Trails RV Resort. It was an amazing spot and we wish we could have stayed longer than 2 days.

The kids road bikes and found these adorable frogs. We had pet frogs for 2 days.

In the open fields we often saw prairie dogs poking their heads out of their holes.

We swam, played miniature golf, and had ice cream.

Gavin's new favorite thing... going cross-eyed

Of course, our trip wouldn't be complete without smores!

Our next stop was at Crater Lake National Park. The view was amazing.
We couldn't believe how much snow was still around.

The whole reason this trip was organized was for me to attend my 20th Year High School Reunion in Redding, CA. Saturday night was a dinner for the adults. It was fun to see old friends and catch up. The kids stayed in the RV in the parking lot watching a movie. Sunday morning we rode our bikes down to our old house in Cottonwood. It brought back great memories. What a beautiful location! Here are some shots of the old house my parents built.

That afternoon we cooled off at the Reunion Family BBQ at Kids Kingdom playground/water park.
From there we drove into Oregon to the Seven Feather's RV Resort. The kids swam until bedtime.

Our next stop was Rockaway Beach on the Oregon Coast. We stayed at the Shorewood RV Park. It was a great location, right on the beach. We had the best weather EVER at the coast. Sunshine all 3 days! The kids built sand forts, flew kites, mastered Frisbee, and played in the waves. It was really relaxing! We road our bikes into town to shop at our favorite store, Flamingo Jims. Chris and the kids enjoyed some smoked crab and clam chowder while I window shopped.

And where was I this whole trip??? Behind the camera!

What a great adventure this was! It was a lot of driving - about 31 hrs of it!
The kids were troopers and Chis drove the RV like it was nothing... Gavin said that for his birthday next year he'd like a marshmallow gun and an RV.  Oh, just an RV, huh?
